Chocolate Sauce

This sauce is as versatile as it is delicious. Serve over ice cream, drizzle over meringues or keep in the fridge for a quick spoon of sweetness!

 

Ingredients

  • 250ml double cream
  • 25g unsalted butter
  • 250g plain dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids), broken into pieces

Instructions

  1. Combine cream and butter together in a saucepan, bringing it to a gentle simmer and stirring until thickened.
  2. Remove from the hob and add in the broken chocolate pieces, keep stirring until melted.
  3. This sauce will keep in the fridge for up to three days. It will become solid, but heat it over a pan of boiling water to bring back to sauce consistency.
