Hot Chocolate

Thank you for your rating!

Luxuriously thick hot chocolate with just a hint of vanilla and nutmeg is just the thing to warm you through on a cold winter’s day.

Ingredients

  • 100g good quality dark chocolate, finely grated
  • 4-6 tbsp icing sugar, sifted
  • 3 tbsp hot chocolate mix
  • 3 tbsp cocoa, sifted
  • 2 tbsp powdered custard mix, sifted
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a jar. Secure the lid and give the jar a good shake to mix everything well.
  2. To make hot chocolate, use 2½ heaped tbsp hot chocolate mix for every 250ml milk.
  3. Simply combine hot chocolate mix with milk in a saucepan and give a quick whisk to combine. Cook over medium heat until hot chocolate is steaming and has thickened, stirring constantly.
  4. Serve immediately topped with marshmallows or a dollop of whipped cream.
  5. Mix is enough for 1.5l milk, or 6 mugs of deliciousness. Will keep indefinitely in a tightly sealed jar in a cool place.
